This enormous gas giant planet is 315 times larger than Earth by mass. Jupiter could be called a "failed star", although it would need to be a some heavier to become a Second Sun. Numerous moons of Jupiter also make it look like an entire solar system. Jupiter is perpetually covered with a mighty layer of clouds, and the biggest tornados on Earth are nothing in comparison with the giant storms permanently raging on this planet. The largest of the Jovian tornados is the Great Red Spot, a storm larger than the Earth which is still active for more than four centuries! Careful and realistic atmospheric animation is one of main features of this screensaver. Also included are beautiful auroras, a remarkable faint ring and other effects.
