DictionaryFilter (dictFilt) is a open source custom password filter for Windows 2000. It is intended to add to the functionality of the built-in password complexity requirements of Windows 2000. The main functionality that is added is the ability to do a dictionary checking. Other functionality added is checking for keyboard sequences, checking for username spelled backwards and limiting the character set to ASCII values between 33 and 126.

This is the download page for DictionaryFilter - DictionaryFilter (dictFilt) is an open source custom password filter for Windows 2000. The main feature of this password filter is the addition of dictionary checking to determine if the password is complex. Additionally, keyboard sequence checking and a few other smaller restrictions are also placed on the passwords. More details can be found in the readme file included in this package. This Visual Studio 6 project included in this package also provides a good framework for developing your own custom password filter.
